Getting Started Guide

Welcome to Ragnavik, a Valheim server enhanced with carefully selected mods to enrich your Viking adventure! Follow these steps to embark on your saga.

Note: You will need to apply for access to the Ragnavik server. More information on how to apply will be available soon.

Step 1: Install Valheim via Steam

Before you can join any Valheim server, you need to have the game installed on your computer through Steam.

  1. Open Steam: Launch the Steam application on your PC. If you don't have Steam, download and install it from the official Steam website.
  2. Purchase Valheim: In the Steam app, use the search bar at the top to find Valheim. Go to the Valheim store page and purchase the game.
  3. Install Valheim: After purchasing, you'll have the option to install Valheim. Click the "Install" button, choose your installation preferences, and wait for the download and installation to complete.

Step 2: Download r2modman

To access the Ragnavik server and its mods, you'll first need to download the r2modman app. r2modman is a mod database and manager for Valheim, making it easy to install and manage your mods.

  1. Go to Thunderstore's official website and download r2modman.
  2. Install r2modman: Once the download is complete, open the r2modman installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install the app on your computer.

Step 3: Install the Ragnavik Modpack

Once r2modman is installed, you can easily find and install the Ragnavik modpack.

  1. Open the r2modman app.
  2. Navigate to Valheim, hover and click select game.
  3. Create a new profile named Ragnavik.
  4. Select the Ragnavik profile.
  5. Click on the "Online" tab and search for Ragnavik.
  6. Click the "Download" button to install the Ragnavik modpack.

Step 4: Launch Valheim Through r2modman

After installing the Ragnavik modpack, you must launch Valheim through the r2modman app to ensure all mods load correctly.

  1. Open the r2modman app.
  2. Navigate to Valheim, hover and click select game.
  3. Select the Ragnavik profile.
  4. Click "Start modded" to launch Valheim with the Ragnavik modpack.

Note: Always launch Valheim through r2modman to ensure that the mods are loaded correctly.

Note: It may take a little longer to load the game with mods enabled.

Step 5: Join the Ragnavik Server

  1. On the Valheim main menu, click "Ragnavik" in the Fast Link section in the upper right corner.
  2. Create a new character: If you haven't played on the Ragnavik server before, you'll need to create a new character to join.
  3. Select your new charater and click "Start"
